radio anechoic box<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-vk-blocks-spacer vk_spacer vk_spacer-type-margin-top\"><div class=\"vk_block-margin-md--margin-top\"><\/div><\/div><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application<\/h2><p>Evaluating antenna gain usually requires a calibrated standard antenna or anechoic chamber, but it can be simply evaluated using a spectrum analyzer with a tracking generator and a radio anechoic box.<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Obtain the EUT gain by comparing it with the reference antenna (antenna with a known gain).<\/li>\n\n<li>As for the measurement environment, the measurement is performed in the anechoic chamber (anechoic box) as in the case of radiation pattern measurement.<\/li>\n\n<li>Mainly, dipoles and log periodic antennas are used in the MHz band, and horn antennas are used in the GHz band.<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h2><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Measurement procedure<\/h3><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Set the spectrum analyzer center frequency and span according to the band you want to measure.<\/li>\n\n<li>The tracking generator output is measured at the reference antenna end.\u3010Fig.1\u3011<br>The result is \"A (dBm)\"<\/li>\n\n<li>Prepare a receiving antenna and a reference antenna (Tx), and install them in the anechoic box at a certain distance.<\/li>\n\n<li>Close the door of the anechoic box and perform the measurement.\u3010Fig.2\u3011<br>The result is \"X (dBm)\".<\/li>\n\n<li>Take out the reference antenna (Tx) and install the EUT in the same position.<\/li>\n\n<li>Close the door of the anechoic box and perform the measurement.\u3010Fig.3\u3011<\/li>\n\n<li>If you do not know the maximum radiation direction of the EUT, rotate the turn table and look for the peak gain.<br>The result is \"\"Y (dBm)\"\".<\/li>\n\n<li>Calculate EIRP EUT (dBm) from the following formula.<br>EIRP Tx(dBm)\uff1dA(dBm)\uff0bGain Tx(dBi)<br>EIRP EUT(dBm)\uff1dY(dBm)\uff0dX(dBm)\uff0bEIRP Tx(dBm)<\/li>\n\n<li>Obtain the EUT gain from the following formula.<br>Gain EUT(dBi)\uff1dEIRP EUT(dBm)\uff0dEUT transmit power(dBm)<\/li><\/ol><p>\u203bEIRP\uff1aEquivalent Isotropically Radiated Power<br>\u203bIf the EUT transmission power and gain cannot be separated, such as when the EUT antenna is integrated, EIRP
