Because deterioration of C \/ N ratio causes a rapid deterioration of the bit error rate (BER). As a result, it becomes impossible to reproduce the transmitted data correctly. <\/p><p>In our handheld spectrum analyzer MSA438, C \/ N ratio can be measured  using \"Channel power measurement\" function. <\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Precise measurement and evaluation by a full-fledged spectrum analyzer.<\/li>\n\n<li>Writing report becomes easy by saving  measurement result (screen, data) into USB memory.<\/li>\n\n<li>It is easy to use in the field because of small &amp; lightweight equipment and 4 hours battery operation.<\/li><\/ul><h2 class=\"vk_block-margin-lg--margin-top wp-block-heading\" id=\"vk-htags-ab2799d3-0425-4b29-9c34-aa47a483bd2e\">Solution<\/h2><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>C \/ N ratio is expressed by the following equation on condition of carrier power Pc and noise power Pn.<\/li>\n\n<li>So, both power values of a carrier in the specified band and a noise out of band are needed.<\/li>\n\n<li>On the other hand, the handheld spectrum analyzer MSA438 has a channel power measurement function. It is possible to determine the C \/ N ratio from the following calculation measuring each of the channel power (carrier) and noise power.<\/li><\/ul><div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\"><div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><p id=\"borderBox\">A.Channel power(mW) = 10{Pc(dBm)\/10}<br>B.Noise power(mW) = 10{P\uff54(dBm)\/10}\u3000- Channel power(mW)<\/p>\n\n<p>Pc: channel power in specified band \/ Pt: total power in screen<br>C\/N ratio(dB) = 10*Log(channel carrier.<br>\n<span class=\"green\"><\/span>Adjust Band part to band of carrier by using encoder.<br>\nStart measurement. <\/li>\n\n<li>Set Total measurement mode of channel power measurement.<br>\n<span class=\"green\"><\/span>Select \"Total\" by F1[MODE].<br>\nStart measurement. <br>\nThe value at lower right of screen is total power in screen Pt.<\/li>\n\n<li>C\/N ratio is
